US Embassy has my passport but I need to travel to UK with Ryanair...

I'm back from the States for Christmas and had to get my visa renewed which was done yesterday, however the Embassy have my passport to put the visa into it and it will not be at my home house for 2 to 3 working days. I'm aware that tomorrow (New Years Day) is a bank holiday so I'm hopeful it will be here on Friday.

Problem is I travel to Edinburgh with Ryanair on Friday from Dublin. Last time I was home I traveled with Ryanair to the UK with just my driving license. However now I'm told they only accept passports (yep, bad planning on my part!). In the event that my passport does not arrive in time, is there anything I can get or do to show at the airport in order for me to board the plane?

    Any advice appreciated!

Hopefully give you back your passport in time. :)

I would also phone Ryanair to see if there is anything you can do with them.

They might have it ready by Thursday afternoon/ Friday morning so you could pick it up before the flight rather than them posting it.

They do have a call centre, but no, as said: no passport, no boarding with Ryanair.

Would you ever just go help yourself? :) If you try nothing, nothing will happen. If you try something, something might happen!

I can't see the embassy being too busy on New Year's Eve.

Or you could just book a new flight with EI, who don't require your passport.

Yes, it's money down the tubes but at least you get to go on your trip.
