***New Years Day Motors Drive*** 01/01/2014

Ok everyone, as I said in the chat thread yesterday it might be fun to go for a drive on new years day around the Wicklow mountains. Some of you expressed interest in going so we may as well get an old lisht going.

THIS is my proposed meeting point. We can meet at 1.30 say? Have a chat for about 30mins and then head on a drive. I was thinking of heading up the old military road to the Sally Gap, stop and take a few photos, head from there down to Roundwood for a cuppa and a bite to eat and another chat and then see what happens

Like I said in the chat thread Id love to head but my engine mounts and 1 cv joint are on their last legs and whilst Im sure the Civic would make it there and home, I wouldnt be able to enjoy the spin sadly and Id only be holding ye up driving like a economy loving granny

It's kinda sudden springing it upon people with a days notice. I'd say more would go if it was planned in advance. I won't be there live on oposite side of country anyway.

I know it was short notice but the Idea was that people near the area could come if they wanted. Purely a whim on my part and thought that others might want to come. If you can't make it that's fine, if you can brilliant.

When the weather improves Ill be all for these kind of meets but I dont fancy getting wet again so soon after Midway.

Have 4 meets a year planned out and know the day for weeks in advance so people can organise around it.

I know this was more of a local meet but if you want attendance this is the way to do it.

Went well, saw some nice scenery and had good chats. In the end it was myself, toasted pickles and one other who showed up. Unfortunately I was drunk when I went to bed last night and forgot to charge my phone so no photos I'm afraid
