I am selling a Dell D620 running on windows xp and want to delete all personal data off it, i dont need to save any data, i dont have the original cd that came with it, is there any easy way in wiping the laptop clean or should i just give it to a pro?

You can simply delete all your data assuming you know where it all is, then run something like ccleaner to clear all caches and browsing history and then run wipe free space (takes forever) when you're finished so the data can't be undeleted.

If you don't know where all your data is I'd use something like DBAN Download | Darik's Boot And Nuke then install something like the 3 months Windows 8 trial. So someone can see that its running and install their own OS, when you sell it.

Or simply remove the hard drive.
