Id like a little advise on an issue I am having I know ill prob have to speak to a solisitor about it but I want to see what others think. The issue is this:

About 2 to 3 days before my girl and I were due to fly to the USA to see her family at Christmas, I tried to book a car hire with a well known international company. Their website claimed the transaction was not successful. To my horror when I logged into my banks online banking I noticed the funds were missing not just missing but it had taken the funds 3 times..... taking almost 1k from us. I called the bank and they said it can take up to 10 working days for the money to come back if the car hire company didnt process the transaction fully. I got onto the car hire company and they said the money would be released back to us within 24 hours and they would send a fax to their bank to have this done. After chasing them now for 10 days that money still isnt back or available to us and it has ruined our vacation where we had to scrape by and not do most of the things we had planned. We are due to fly home today and it really feels like to us that the Grinch stole Christmas. The bank blames them and they blame the bank.

Do you think there is any way to recover this money and the loss of our holiday?
