How to plan the year?

Last year I rode races based on club mates recommendations, when I was off work, when the kids were not doing something, proximity, or following a thread on boards. Basically, it was a haphazard selection.
This year, I want to put some planning and thought into it, but I find CI website really short on details. For example, is this an A2/3 only? Is there a youth race? Is this a 2-day stage race? I assume race or event organisers detail what they are planning as part of their application to get on the calendar?
Does anyone know if there will be more info, or will it be word of mouth?

Last year the yearbook which showed all the races and categories applicable to each race came out at the beginning of February.

Otherwise it's a question of googling each race you want to do and seeing what the categories were last year (and assuming they'll be the same)

"Yearbook" makes it sound much grander than downloadable PDF document...

n.b. link for download doesn't work anymore
