    All,

I have a small leek near the chimney, and the felt inside the attic has holes in it that causes the water to leek inside. since all roofer are off this period of the year, is there a quick way to fix the felt, so the water slides down to the outside, instead of dripping inside the attic (i have a container catching the drips, but the sound it makes is horrible)? Also could anyone recommend a good roofer in the Navan area?

    Thank,

I seen a roofer years ago that had a hole in his felt make a slice above the hole with a Stanley blade then he inserted a rip of felt through the slice and pushed it down until it covered the original hole and it worked :D

The leak around the chimney is probably caused by movement in the lead flashing. Needs to be hammered back and sealed.

Any tips how to seal it? I heard there's a tar-like sealant that could be bought from B&Q or any DIY store. Is that right?

Hi-jacking the thread here but have a similar issue. Wondering how I can fix it?

There's a draught coming in and blowing some of the insulation away as can be seen from the pics. Tried to patch it up with duct tape a couple of times but no good. There's now a damp patch in the ceiling below too so need to get this fixed.

Is there a particular type of roof felt that in needed and is it available in most DIY stores?

Try using silicone to stick it up

are you sure that the extractor ducting is well sealed and not leaking blowing your insulation there is a membrane tape that you can get from builders providers which will stick membrane back in place
