Agree with most of that. NZ-SA would also be up there for match of the year

NZ-SA for game of the year but hard to dispute the rest of it.

I would propose 'Mo' of November and nominate Basteraud. That was spectacular

I would include the Irish women's team for their grand slam!

I'm leaning towards Ireland-NZ because I was there! Amazing 80 minutes of drama.

Wales putting a mighty stop to the English Grand Slam hopes.

It was a good game but it didn't have the incredible finish of Ire-NZ or the ridiculous skill + intensity of NZ-SA. I'd go with the latter for game of the year, but as gut-wrenching as the NZ game was from an Irish perspective, for the neutral it must have been a great spectacle

You forgot "beard of the year". Darcy. But Crotty does a good impersonation.

One of my lowlights was having to watch deferred coverage - with a very dodgy internet signal, in a crap English B&B - of that NZ v SA game. The game itself was a highlight of course.

There should be a rule that when it is mentioned, a picture should accompany to reinforce the magnificence.

I'm still not fully recovered from that game - tbh I still find it hard to watch rugby - for some reason rugby defeats linger longer than football defeats for me - not sure if this is because big games are so few - but that game made me so proud to be Irish - and hurt so bad, i fealt i played in it
