    How so?

    Distin is guaranteed to play.

Bruce is guaranteed to play at least for now but was also playing even before Chester was injured. Chester will be back in my team when he returns.

Baker has been one of the most consistent defenders in the AVL team since earning his place.

Azpil is somewhat of a risk but seems to be first choice at the moment.

Clyne was first choice before his injury, I see no reason why he wouldn't be now.

Agree with Busts on Clyne. Hasn't definitely got the place yet.

My reservation on Baker comes down to not rating Villa defensively.

    Azpil is a calculated risk.

Bruce I'd be happy enough with and Distin bbut not for this week.

Not having a sub keeper who plays is also a bit of a risk which I decided against this morning.

Combined it's a lot of risks is all.

Bruce will have to fight McShane off, ye may laugh but it's true

Azpilicueta is in situ for the moment but there's quite a bit of risk attached
Baker has serious competition which wasn't noticeable when Vlaar was out

    Clyne is second choice

    Better?
    wcem3m.jpg

Noone/Gnabry? Zaha is going to Cardiff for loan, so he could take Noone place on the field. Furthermore, Pardew has just said that he is not sure about Cabaye. 0,3 in a bank, could give a move for Ramsey for example.

So this is what I'll probably go with tomorrow night

    ocua.jpg

If either Silva or Cabaye or both don't start I can switch to this midfield

    o40p.jpg

If they do start I'll just keep that 1.2m itb. It could come in very handy very soon........

    Dobra wiechor Fenson.

Looks betting to me but my team is a bit mad!

I have Cabaye and holding to see what happens. Will keep for Norwich if hes not gone.

I'm keeping Gnabry to see what kind of Game time he get. Think it might surprise us as Wenger seems to be keen on him.

Another option is Myler of Hull.

Is Alex Bruce in danger of losing his place to McShane?

This is the lunacy of Fantasy Football in a nutshell :pac:

It's a question the most diehard Hull City Tigers fan wouldn't even worry about and why I love it :p I'd say it's Bruce's to lose but the switch in formation would be the bigger worry.

For better or worse I can't wait for half 7 tomorrow evening and the deadline passes. What will be will be.

Apologies on this question but need clearing up. Have yet to use my wildcard all season but heard from a work colleague today that free January wildcard is only available to those who have only used wildcard earlier in season.

    Appreciate help on this.

I will beat you with Adebayor! ;) Thanks a lot for help. Who is your choice for captain following gameweek? I bet it is RVP vs Cardiff ^^ I'm thinking about Mata/Hazard. When I see starting squads and Mata will be in first 11, I will choose him instead Hazard. Liverpool with his central mid problems has to shoot more goals than opponents, so Suarez could be good choice too. Tough decision..

Not true. Jan WC to be used in January. Other WC to be used any time you like

I'm now trying to figure out how I can accommodate both Mata and Rooney. Last minute tinkering could really confuse me.

#ncfc injury bulletin latest. Turner + Howson still 'weeks' away. No other concerns. Bennett back running

I guess I need to actually start planning for life without Mickey Turner until he makes a dramatic return for a DGW as captain :D

Wildcard team finalised now that Cabaye is gone:

    Mannone Boruc
    Mertesacker Coleman Terry Ward Bruce
    Yaya Hazard Mata Lallana Noone
    Aguero Suarez Ade

Plan originally was to keep Cabaye and 2.3 mil free for upgrades but now that Cabaye has left will take a chance on Mata.

    Opinions?

i'd be interested to see how united line up before getting rooney back in, i think Rooney could be pushed a little wider, RVP up top, Januzaj left, Rooney right, with mata playing in the hole.
or else he could just play 2 up top and play mata wider.

very good looking team, you must have a lot of money?

I have a very similar team but could only afford januzaj as my 4th mid and have shaw where you have terry. rest is very similar.

On a scale of 1-10 how much of the plot would I need to lose to consider this team if RVP were to start tomorrow? :pac:

Naturally I could certainly compromise with Rooney but holy hell there's some fire-power in that team and rather solid at the back

Adjusting to the Cabaye news this is my 2 to 3 week team before Santi becomes Silva and I get McGregor and Distin in for Sagna and Davis.

I'm 0.2 short of being able to put Puncheon in as 4th mid this week but just can't find it anywhere....

Open to other suggestion for 2 week midfield options other than Cazorla and Meyler/Noone...

This is a wee bit out of date but still good. http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2014/01/02/winter-wildcard-goalkeeper-pairings/

I've gone with Mannone and McGregor but looking at it Mannone and Speroni might be better...

    Hey guys,

Any little advise would be appreciated.

It is really my 2 cheap players in midfield and forward I can't decide on but as they will both be subs to begin with, I am willing to leave them as they are until I see how other players go.

    Team is:

    Mannone,Adrian

    Kolarov, Koscielny, Vlaar, Ward, Yoshida

    Hazard, Mata, Lallana, Eriksen, Gnabry

    Suarez, Aguero, Guidetti.

I have 1.1m in the bank. I can upgrade Gnabry over the next few weeks depending on who arrives into the league and plays well.

Guidetti is an attempt at a roughie, but I'll be keeping a close eye on K Jones.

Defence; I will keep Yoshida and can swap to someone else around the 4.0 mark eventually. I will start Koscielny & Kolarov and rotate the other 3.

    How's this defensive line then?

I can't seem to find a keeper rotation that I like. On top of that the cost of rotating two keepers and getting Arsenal defensive coverage is too damn high.

Evans is a guaranteed starter. He has been United's best CB this season and definitely will not be dropped.

Vlaar is the core of Villas defence. Very decent home games on the way for him, and some fair away games too. Not many better options are 4.3 or less.

Yoshida looks set for a run in the Soton defence until Lovren returns. If rumors are to be believed it'll be 6 weeks before he is back. I'll worry about that when the time comes. Hopefully Chester will be back, or I could swap for Chambers if it turns out he is first choice RB.

Azpilicueta, as has been said on here numerous times, is a calculated risk. He seems be first choice at the moment but you can never know with Jose.

Brown has some very good home games coming up. Not sure I fancy Sunderlands defence though. Would prefer someone else. Might stick with Ward.

Edit: Or go with Ryan Bennett of Norwich. Only 3.9 and will be filling in for Turner who is out for a number of weeks..

    Baines..............Clyne..........Koscielny

    Mata.......Yaya..........Lallana......Ramsey

    Suarez...........Aguero........Sturridge

    Davis, Mariappa, Bruce, Noone

Fabio and Zaha are both going on loan to Cardiff..

Fabio should walk into their first 11 (Maybe I rate him too highly), and Zaha may spell trouble for Noone..

Was only thinking for a week or two if he started tomorrow. If he rises once more I can sell for profit.

Re goalkeepers I'm nearly set on a safe McGregor Speroni rotation, using Yoshida and Wes Brown as my cheap defenders instead of Ward and Bruce.

If I get another 0.1 somewhere I could afford Bardsley even.

Up with sick kids btw, not certifiable wildcard madness.....honest!

Transfers locked in on the wildcard - going for a 3-4-3 for the rest of the season. Taking a chance on Shaw being sold before the transfer window closes to one of the top teams, if not will swap either him or Fonte out while Dawson and Gabbidon will rotate depending on fixtures. Can see McGeady doing well for Everton and picking out Lukaku the beast for headers, Ramsay hopefully will come back from injury raring to go and with Walcott out will get back to the form he was on. Lallana has a decent run of fixtures and willing to make a punt on Mata that he fits right in and with an opening game against Cardiff brings in some points on his debut. The front 3 dont need explaining, points magnets! :D

    Opinions?

    HI guys,

Quick question. Im pretty sure Im going to get in a West Ham defender. With Ried coming back there more likely to get a few clean sheets + they have a great run of games after Chelsea.

At the moment im thinking collins but do you think he will start alongside Ried when's he back or would Johnson?

"Upset stomach" is my 10-15 minute freedom wildcard.
It gets me on the throne for 10 minutes make any changes, just make sure to make the odd groan (tend to do that picking the team anyway) to back up the story.

Best thing about this is that you can bolt back for another 5 mins if you've forgotten to captain Suarez.

pretty much decided on this as my team, will pull the trigger on the final few transfers tomorrow once adam johnson gets his price rise.

i currently have gabbidon, is it worth the .2 i save to put in mariappa? i can't see any reason why not?

Feel free to add any suggestions on what you think i should do differently.
(i know januzaj is a gamble but with the 3 expensive mids i needed a cheaper 4th mid and want to see how things play out with him)

    Mannone - Marshall
    Coleman - Mert - L.Shaw - Mariappa - Bruce
Hazard - YaYa - Mata - Januzaj - Parker or Noone
    Aguero - Suarez - Giroud

.2 left in the bank if i go for noone and .1 if i go for scot parker (either of these will only ever be used when januzaj doesn't play or if they have a particulary easy looking home fixture)

With the signing of mata and putting him in your team, I personally wouldnt go with janujaz aswell. RVP and rooney supposedly fit and mata signing can only see a decrease in janujaz gametime. The above 3 when fit are going to play every game meaning AJ is up against wellbeck, young, giggs, nani, kagawa, valencia for the 1 remaining spot in utds front 4. He has been the one bright spark of late for utd however, from an FF perspective take his last 8 gws 27 pts when he has been a regular isnt enough for a 4th midfielder spot IMO. Id downgrade some combination of mert-kos, coleman-distin, giroud-ade to give you the funds to get another 4th midfielder in. For example Im not sure AJ will start at stoke or arsenal or before cl games when he will play as mata is ineligible.
Ive a feeling I know why you went with shaw;)

ok I've decided to stick with januzaj for the time being as united have Cardiff and fulham at home in their next 3 matches. but I took onboard what you said about him being a weak 4th mid if he's going to be rotated a lot. I'd really like to keep giroud for palace at the weekend but want o have a contingency plan in place to get ramsey in.
do you think it's worth putting evans in for mert (I got mert at 6.2 so only get 6.4 for him), it then gives me enough in the bank to be able to do januzaj to ramsey and giroud to ade in 2 moves (hopefully I can bank my free transfer this week)

It'd leave me with no arsenal defensive cover though and while evans is very likely to play most games he's not 100% sure like mert is.

Definitely don't go near guidetti, he's only played 12 mins all season. Chamakh is 0.2 cheaper and has played 1500mins, if you are looking for someone to just sit on the bench and get 2pts+ when needed.

That 0.2 plus your 1.1 in the bank means you can upgrade gnabry or one of your defs.

Id be interested in hearing other peoples opinions on kolarov. Hes played 8 of the last 9. Is it his place to lose?

    After Cabaye news:

    2a7wlud.jpg

Cazorla for these 2 gameweeks, after that Silva coming in.
Mannone&Jonhson from Sunderland cuz they have easy gameplan I think.
Gnabry.? After Arteta, Ramsey return he could not play.
Meyler/Noone? As I wrote before, to Zaha is going to Cardiff, so he could take Noone Place. Meyler? He hasn't played last gameweek.
I know that it is only 5th Mid. Not so important :)

    Teamsquad for 23 Gameweek:
Mannone - Sagna, Azpilicueta, Ward - Mata (c), Hazard, Cazorla, Johnson - Adebayor, Suarez, Aguero.

If Mata doesn't start in first 11 I would choose Hazard.
    Cheers! :)

Id be wary of having no arsenal defensive coverage. I had none till 2 weeks ago and it was killing me (everyone seems to have atleast 1 arsenal defender). What about sczeney and davis as gks 9.9. Then mert to ollson, brown/bardsley or kelly/flanagan(whoever starts tonight). Alternatively just do mert to kos/sagna and shaw to yoshida/hoolveld(whoever starts tonight).

cheers, will have another look when I'm on lunch, was trying to hold onto shaw til the window closes to see if he were to join united. I paid 4.5 for him so only get 4.6 and he's worth 4.8 so hard to get him back in. will have a look at the goalkeeper situation though or else maybe as you say, just do the mert to kos transfer now freeing up some fund, if shaw hasn't moved by Saturday then maybe transfer him then, transfer out giroud after the palace game and then ramsey in the week after, as i'll have had a good 3 games including the Cardiff and fulham games to judge januzaj.
of course as we all know, it's not quite as easy planning your next 3 transfers now as something always crops up.
would actually be a godsend if januzaj didn't start tonight.
cheers for the feedback, i'll look further into your suggestions in a while.

Well I'm probably going to set up my team in the afternoon for this week and leave it at that unless the team announcements don't suit me, I'll have Januzaj in my team but replace him with Eriksen if he doesn't start. I'm gonna have a wildcard lineup written down on a piece of paper in case in case of emergencys, I suppose that would involve Lukaku not starting for whatever reason, besides that I'm happy enough to carry the wildcard over to the weekend.

Well now that we've all played it or know exactly when we will has anybody any regrets about playing it early, would you do the same next year, I was lucky in that I've been happy with my team since Christmas and have had difficult selection choices every week, happy now that I still have it.

Next year i I will wait longer for all the transfer news. Luckily i didn't bring Cabaye, but would love Mata from the start. Not to mention 3 yellow flags in my team with no proper subs available. Fair play to all of you who waited, i just couldn't resist when one was available to me.
