It's ballsy, but is it really needed?

lol yes it is a pretty pants defense, I know defenders score the least position-wise, but I think that's taking it a bit 'too' far, e.g. Coleman is pretty much tied with 3rd highest scoring midfielder

Me myself all i'm gonna say is i'm not gonna use my wc this week, but prob the week after - Rooney Suarez Aguero strikeforce is the plan, the rest I won't give away

No probably not i have a pretty decent team and really dont want to lose Coleman but think I would have multiple captain choices every week and a lot of goals

Would it not make sense just to have Rooney instead on RVP and that way you cold keep Coleman and possibly even upgrade another defender too

i think your right actuall, rooney for RVP allows me to keep Coleman and have another further 0.3 to work on the backline, thank you!

Raf32, that defence is shocking. most of those guys are only playing because somebody else is injured, Chester is good for his position but Hulls home fixtures are tough, I can't see the point of a never playing midfielder to save .1 or.2m.
Van Persie is killing you, it seems obvious to me.

ya your right, going to change it over to Rooney and keep coleman, hopefully get a few price rises on top of the 0.3 in the bank and get another decent defender to go with him and Wilson or Chester.

Activated the at the start of the week despite not really needing to. Figured the few extra .1s might help get a better team or something and allow myself to prepare to get a few players cheaper.

    Pretty happy with the team,
Turner could be switched to someone else, vlaar and williamson spring to mind.

Ouch dude. Most of the players that are going to rise by 0.2 have already risen by 0.1

Go to http://totalfpl.com/pricechanges and sort by "Change Today". You can see how is getting most attention.
kos, mert and eriksen but as futureguy mentioned you have probably missed the boat on making profit apart from potentially those 3.

Fuck... as i said in another thrad i was away for two weeks over the xmas run of games and it has ruined me! Only got a chance to make one transfer over 4 game weeks and that was bringing Howard in who ednded up not playing the following week :o

Came home to a team riddled with injuries and missed out on any of the cash prizes i my main money league. Only good thing is the scores are reset from now till the end of the season in that league so thought id use the WC to sort my team out to get off to a good start! was up at nearly 110m before i left and after wildcarding my new team is worth just over 106.5 thats a lot of money to lose over the space of four GWs i missed!

I'd nearly say you should go lower than Rooney.

Someone like J Rod up front and you've can upgrade to a better keeper and 3 solid defenders.

Even with what you're gaining from Rooney, I think you'd lose it in the long run with having 3 weaker than average defenders/keeper.

When Sturridge and Aguero and RVP if he is back firing are all back then the forward lines are going to look good, all teams are too similar now, rotation will take place especially before the CL games for those left.

Personally cant wait for the S and S partnership to be back

    I've forgotten this....

Can you play a wildcard on a Monday and constantly change your team all week long up til 11.30 of the next GW starting?

Or once you've played your wildcard, is that it?

I'd be a lot happy that those 4 changes at the back would yield more than RVP over Ade.

Personally, I think the only way RVP gets into my team (with Aguero) is if it's at the cost of Suarez to Sturridge.
Sturridge will dovetail with Suarez and will affect his return imo.
RVP would have to be on fire though.
For the the 7 games Sturridge and Suarez played together, it was Suarez 73 -Sturridge 48... (Sturridge has about 90 mins less gametime over those games so I would say it's about a 3 point a game difference.

If Jan is a disaster, I may be forced into a gamble like that, but it doesn't sit well.

I'd reconsider Wilson also tbh, Huth is back in training it seems and Wilson didn't do anything earlier in the year to suggest he'll regain his midfield place.

looking at something a bit different
    Marshall mannone
    baines nastasic evans kos williamson
    ozil walcott silva hazard jedinak
    suarez ade jay rod
Its more of a 4 week team as I'll be looking to get aguero in come gw 25. With baines and ozil being downgraded and jay rod or ade being upgraded. Hope to be able to carry a transfer to allow me to do it for a 4 pt hit.
    Will play 3 4 3 and the odd week possibly 4 4 2.

You definitely decided against Rooney? I'm not sure Ozil is worth it tbh. I'd be going for Yaya above him I think.

He just doesn't seem to want to stop scoring.

Yaya is a machine that just doesnt seem to stop, I just cant bring myself to sign him for 10 million.
Im definetely done with rooney even though if fit he should get a decent haul next week.He isnt in my long term plans and I feel i can use my aguero money in better ways over the next 4 weeks. Ive looked at the next 4 weeks and see myself doing ade (c) at home to palace and then suarez at home to villa and everton, then walcott home to palace. Ozil is a 4 wk signing villa fulham southampton palace against yaya's newcastle cardiff spurs chelsea.
My problems this year come down to no coleman, no arsenal defender, no yaya, no ramsey. Im offsetting this in a different way baines over coleman, silva over yaya, kosceilny in and ozil and walcott.

Decided last week I won't be signing him no matter what. Picking up bad habits off yous stubborn fckers round here maybe, but he's pisšed me off at this stage with his stupid scoring. That deflected effort on New Years was the last straw!

    Hup silva.

I put the fixtures into a table there to make it easier to read, it's a nice breakdown and something I have my eye on myself:

    GW Sunderland Cardiff Hull
21 Fulham (away) West Ham (home) Chelsea (home)
22 Southampton (home) Man City (away) Norwich (away)
23 Stoke (home) Man United (away) Crystal Palace (away)
24 Newcastle (away) Norwich (home) Tottenham (home)
25 Hull City (home) Swansea (away) Sunderland (away)
26 Man City (away) Aston Villa (home) Southampton (home)
27 Arsenal (away) Hull City (home) Cardiff (away)
28 West Brom (home) Tottenham (away) Newcastle (home)
29 Liverpool (away) Fulham (home) West Ham (away)
30 Crystal Palace (home) Everton (away) Man City (home)
31 Norwich (away) Liverpool (home) West Brom (home)
32 West Ham (home) West Brom (away) Stoke (away)
33 Tottenham (away) Crystal Palace (home) Swansea (home)
34 Everton (home) Southampton (away) Man United (away)
35 Chelsea (away) Stoke (home) Arsenal (home)
36 Cardiff (home) Sunderland (away) Fulham (away)
37 Man United (away) Newcastle (away) Aston Villa (away)
38 Swansea (home) Chelsea (home) Everton (home)
looking at those hull home fixtures I'm not as interested in chester and mcgregor as I was.

Yeah but Hull are well organised defensively. Although they have not yet kept a CS away, if they keep this defensive strength they have potential to keep a couple of CS out of the 6 away games I highlighted in green.
Their home fixtures are much tougher right but they may get 1 or 2 CS out of the 3 games I bolded.
In the end Chester is only there as your 4th/5th def and for his low price. But I guess the main info from this table is that doubling Chester up with McGregor might not be a great idea.

Then, you have the Mannone-Marshall combination... It looks almost too good to be true as people already mentionned (=> e.g. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=88267444&postcount=214 and http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=88275782&postcount=239) and as this table dramatically demonstrates (fixtures in red). I mean you'd only have trouble for GWs 31, 34 and 37. GW 31 you can have Mannone away to Norwich. So trouble really begins GW34. Plenty of time and potential/probable shifts in forms to get another keeper in for the last 4-5 GWs.

Just to add the final nail on the coffin, Westwood may be out for the season => Westwood needs shoulder surgery. GP: "I can't see him playing much this season." so Mannone position looks secure.

Does that not mean that they'll nearly certainly sign Cesar or another keeper in Jan?

Ah ! Sh*te  ! Completely forgot about that... Hmm... I presume you're right. THat would throw a huuuge spanner in the works though...

Found that article about Poyet reconsidering Cesar move after Mannone impressive shows. Don't think the Daily Mail can be trusted though...

    Latest draft...

Still undecided regarding Ade,J Rod,Erickson, Cabaye or Lallana, which combo to go with.

My defence problem is Terry or two Arsenal defenders.

What trio would people go for from the below? Assuming the 3rd player in each is your 5th choice mid who will rarely play.

    Mertesacker, Cabaye, Colback
    Sagna, Eriksen, Mutch

Koscielny, Eriksen, Colback and use the additional funds else where. No point in having a 4.5m midfielder if he's not gonna play much. Koscielny will be more likely to pick up BP than Sagna and I don't see the value in spending nearly a million more to bring in Mert.

Mert is already in my team for £5.9m and he's a big goal/BP threat so I would prefer to keep him. I have Sagna too (bought for £5.4m) and think he's more of an attacking threat than Kos. My issue is I would prefer to have Eriksen over Cabaye based on recent form. I've never really been a fan of Cabaye but needed someone for Ramsey and he looked the best option. I wouldn't mind getting Ramsey back either but at £7.2m he's also out of my budget as I'm only getting £6.9 for Cabaye. The only place I can see myself getting the cash needed is either get rid of Mert instead of Sagna, or possible bring in JRod instead of Adebayor.

I see you're going for Marshall/Mannone now. I really think it makes more sense given the fixtures. But for that factor, McGregor would be better.

I've the same conundrum re the players you listed in midfield/attack. My own thinking is Lallana as 4th mid and Ade as 3rd striker.
