Binocular eyepiece adapter

    Hi,

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask... I have very nice Opticron binocs, but they dont feel very comfortable to use.

To be graphic about it, I need to push the eyepiece too much against my nose to get the right view.

Is there any adapter I can buy to resolve this? I could not find anything online but maybe I am not looking correctly.

    Any advise is appreciated.

    Thanks

First off, and forgive me if you know this, but some Opticron bins have a screw-up function on the eye-pieces. This allows a user wearing glasses to adjust the distance from the eye. Sometimes the obvious can be the right answer :) but again, forgive me if you knew!

Second, if they have the standard rubber eye-cups, you can buy other ones; at least I can for my Swarovski SLCs. My advice would be to try Conns Cameras on Clarendon Street, Dublin 2. They deal in Opticron, and may be able to advise.

    Do you wear glasses?

    Hi Olly, Srameen,

Thanks for the advise. Yes, the binocs have the crew up function with 3 positions. I don't wear glasses so for best results I fully extend the eyepieces, and that is when they hurt my nose (tbh it is my nose the one with desing flaws as opposed to the binocs).

I was thinking about something soft I could attach to them, and use the fact that I dont wear glasses in my favour to avoid having to fully extend the eyepieces.

I tried conns back in the day (I actually bougt them from them) but they could not help.

Ok, I may have found what I need.

Winged eyecup is the magic word:

Ok I eventually ordered them from ebay. I should receive them later this week or next, let me know if anyone is interested in them.

I received them yesterday... really cool accessory as it blocks out completely the light that comes from the side of the eyepiece.

    Highly recommended.
