Mataajir - Southwell 3:00 (9/2 Paddy Power BOG).

Interesting race see Mataajir drop down to a mark that it hasn't been at since it was a two year old. Ran at Southwell only two weeks ago and finished 4th over the same distance it's running at tomorrow. If anything, it looked like it finished with a little bit in hand, so should have enough to overturn Xpres Maite, hwich narrowly finished ahead of it that time out. Should handle the fibresand surface fine and the opposition here I would regard as being that little bit weaker this time. Izzy Boy looking like it will start favourite and probably the big threat here, but given its two narrow wins, I suspect that this is just a race too far for it.

Took a chance on Hunting Party going handicapping in the Paddy Power at 20/1 each way.

Moyle Park to blow away the competition today and go single figure favourite for the Supreme.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Hope he does rossom but that form isn't working out at all. I know he's up against a grade 1 winner but I think that was a woeful race, it will be disappointing if he doesn't win well today if he wants to be a strong Supreme challenger

Ch4 not showing any racing today even with Sprinter Sacre running. Shame.

Some interesting racing at kempton yet channel 4 choose to show nothing. Pathetic!
Going to take a chance on clonbannan lad e/w in the paddy power.

Cloudy Rock & Moyle Park for me today.

Best horse definitely won there at Leopardstown

McCoy would've won quite easily without the mistake at the last (which it assumed had cost him the race)

Champagne James kept some good company in bumpers. If fully tuned, he should account for this lot with ease.

Thats Irish racing summed up all in that race, that horse beaten out of sight in his 2 starts over hurdles and then hoses up like a 1/10 shot :pac:

One wonders if Mr Elliott will be asked to the stewards room..... I doubt it

That Double Irish absolutely hosed in

    Real head scratcher there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

    Good grief, just saw result.

Baily Green looks overpriced in the next given his overall form.

A couple for me today (eway singles and a double)

On Trend 10/1 in the 3-05 Kempton
    Greyfriarschorista in the 2-25 Southwell

How in the name of jaysus is Kid Cassidy as low as 4/1 :confused::confused:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,144 ✭✭✭BQQ

    Vicenzo Mio looked impressive there.

Think someone flagged it up a few days ago (SRFC, I think)

Always worth opposing Arvika left-handed. Sizing Europe to show his class for me. Then Moyle Park to romp home hopefully.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭Colonel Sanders

Bit of money for Hidden Cyclone here

Even though I'm struggling to find a bet among the market leaders (Arvika better going right handed, Sizing not getting any younger & I was very disappointed at Down Royal with him) he'll surely be outclassed here. Hoping he acquits himself well though

Hidden Cyclone is the pricewise horse

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭king Henry 14

    Arvika for me next

Pricewise! Don't think Sizing's Down Royal run was too bad.

Another Mullins hot pot turned over there in limerick. 40/1 shock. Fav would have definitely won had he not bundled the second last!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,564 ✭✭✭kiers47

Strange to see arvika held up at the back. Will be interesting to see how this develops.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 194 ✭✭seoirsem

Sizing's jumping fell apart down the back!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭hawkhead

That was a strange ride on Sizing Europe for me. He surely went off way too quick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 194 ✭✭seoirsem

Nice ride by the winner, no show from Hendersons one

Benefficent must be the most under rated horse in training another grade 1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭hawkhead

The bank of Willie Mullins will be the next one requiring a bailout if this continues

    Great race. Always liked Benefficient.

Anyone backing that horse must be in clover. Has he ever run at a poor price? Sizing disappointing. Great run from Hidden Cyclone.

    I fucking hate those owners.

Andrew Lynch said he was mad fresh at home and raring to go, but he started to back off his fences down the back and was losing lengths all the way. Time to retire the old hero imo.

While I think it's not the strongest Grade 1 form you'll ever see that was another blinding run from Hidden Cyclone after a brave effort in the Paddy Power

He got into a bit of trouble after jumping the last but I think the winner was idling in front in any case. Still, shows he's not finished yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭king Henry 14

Definitely a few strange rides there on sizing and arvika but the best horse definitely won. Very underrated.

Delighted to see all these Mullins favourites getting smashed for a change.

Poor tactics, not a chance was he going to keep up that pace on heavy ground.

To be fair Kid Cassidy is an absolute mule.

Geraghty picked off again - utter sh!te.

Not for changing in the next at Limerick was declared to run at leopardstown yesterday but pulled out to take up easier option today . 2/1

Got word for lookoutnow in the 2.35 at limerick, but have been advised not to lump on as the trainer said he thinks there is a bit of sickness in the yard. Just thought I would pass on the info.

Jock gave the horse far too much to do in the close - would have won otherwise.

    Moyle Park very strong

While The Royal Bond fell apart slightly The Tullow Tank is still a very good yardstick so this is the acid test for MP

the cut of the owners of Benefficient could they not wear a shirt of a suite for the day

    Elliott is a blatant gangster!
I was even talking about his exploits earlier.

Cause of Causes is a must....join the prick in his crookedness!

Terrible conditions at leopardstown now. The paddy power handicap chase is going to take some getting. Any of the horses looking for decent ground can forget it I'd say.
