    Hi,

    Santa brought two new bikes.

    Now the old, and not very well cared for bikes need to be disposed of.

    One 12" and one 14"

    Value = €0

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    If they're in good mechanical condition (ie: only cosmetically challenged), then donate them to the SVP/rothar.ie* or similar.

    *Rothar may not want children's bikes, best to check first.

    If they're not great, mechanically speaking, then metal recycling is best…

    Rothar would probably be the place, I'd say they could cannibalise some parts. Ring in advance to make sure though.

    donedeal or adverts and just give them away. Thats what I did with the lads ones earlier this year. Despite putting up pictures of the terrible condition of the bikes they were taken in less than 24 hours. Loads of people in need and willing to tidy them up.

    We gave 2 bikes to St Vincent de Paul.

    We put out 2 kiddies bikes on the street. Attached a laminated sheet saying feel free to take them away - they were gone in a couple of hours.

    Some of the Fingal CoCo recycling centres reserve bikes for refurbishment. Might be worth dropping them off there...

    Try freecycle.ie, there's always people grateful of re-using something you don't want and keeps them out of the landfills.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

    Will try Rothar as they're not too far from me.
