Best hard drive for ps4

Hi guys, I'm looking for a hard drive for the ps4 around 1.5 tb. I can only see one on Amazon that looks like it'll fit but just wondering has anyone got one that they'd recommend.

im gonna wait on the new 2tb samsung m9t should be available soon, think its the first 9.5mm 2tb hd

Ya, the 2tb would be perfect. Think I'll hold out for that unless there's a good sale price on a 1.5.. Thanks!

I was going to get that drive too but its not out I believe until April / May 2014. I went with a 1TB hybrid drive instead. Very easy to install.

After reading lots of reviews and forum threads, i decided on a 7200 rpm drive....those hybrid drives are very inconsistent in terms of numbers.

Because the SSD portion is so small there seems to be alot of times whereby the drive needs to go outside of the SSD portion and access the platter HDD....as such you can run a benchmark 10 times and get 10 different rsults.

The 8GB SSD is simply too small to cache the OS and game files.
The 7200RPM drives were reviewed very highly, very consistent....and in most tests close of pure SSD and hybrid drives.

I went with the HGST 7K1000 drive, €70 from Pixmania....1TB
Yeah there will be 2TB drives....there already is a 1.5TB drive for sale:

But all those drives are 5400 rpm.....if you want speed + capacity then either the 1TB HGST or the 750GB WD Black drives are 7200rpm.

For capacity you have cheaper 5400 rpm 1TB options, plus the 1.5TB and soon the 2TB models.

Personally i would avoid the Seagate hybrid 1TB drive....its price/performance ration dosent justify 100 euro. The 8GB SSD isint helping because its too small, so go for 5400 or 7200 rpm mechanical drives.

I don't know how much heat is generated by a 7200rpm drive, but personally I wouldn't be adding extra heat.

We got the HDD yeterday....was interesting watch the BF install it, very easy....but i'm a technophobe, its deffo much more snappy and responsive, and game loading times are at least 10 secs quicker accross the board. But we only had 862GB left after installing?.....i dont get it?

I thought it was 1 terabyte????

I got this one : http://www.cclonline.com/product/128114/MQ01ABD100H/Hard-Drives/Toshiba-2-5-SATA-III-1TB-MQ01ABD100H/HDD2276/ and I think I was left with about what you have useable space, a certain portion if space is hogged by the OS and the rest used for games....
