Cycling related gifts so far include a Trelock LS950 front light, which on a quick comparison seems to beat my Moon X300 for brightness.

 Is Santa really a lady hiding behind that big white beard and the red coat?

A puncture repair kit and these:

Not that I ever bother repairing punctures or wear trousers on the bike - their heart was in the right place I guess :pac:

I got one of those SolarStorm X2 gajillion lumen lights, along with sean kelly's biography for christmas. If someone ends up blinding you on the N81 with lights on super seizure strobe settings, that'll be me.

My OH signed me up for the pre order of The Zone Power Meter from www.brimbrothers.com!!

Looks like it could be next Christmas before its available :-(

    Good idea/bad idea?

From a physicists point of view, I wouldn't trust a powermeter that's strapped to the top of your shoe.

I'm assuming (a dangerous thing to do i know) that before The Zone is released it will be independently tested against the best strain equipment on the market to confirm it's accuracy.

Also, on general release I would expect The Zone to be reviewed by all the leading publications and it's accuracy tested.

I'm sure Brim Bros anticipate considerable independent testing also and have factored the expected performance into the claims they are making for The Zone.

I guess we'll know soon enough!

    Ben

Deleted my post after realising it was a cleat based powermeter, with a ribbon cable going to a transmitter on the top of the shoe. Thought it was just the transmitter on the top of shoe.

Looks interesting. Any idea how much will it be roughly?
