    hi,

power went off at weekend, all houses around off as well, came back and went off several times throughout day.

Since i have been getting intermittent trips to the main elcb trip switch. Basically my socket board has a number of small trips with different socket circuits on and then a big elcb one.

I tested my appliances but nothing tripped straight away.

Could this be a power surge problem from my supplier??

How does the big trip go without any of the smaller going as well?

    thanks for reading,

power surge can cause damage..but i'd prob expect an instant trip on an mcb after that happening or appliances not working

it might be damp somewhere if there was a lot of rain

usually if there's intermittent power disturbances i'd switch off the rcd(elcb) if possible as a precuation

You probably have an earth fault somewhere.

    Immersion heater?
    Out side Xmas lights?
    Kettle?
    Washing machine?
    Tumble Dryer?

It might just be an intermittent fault.

A small earth fault won't trip the individual breakers.

A small earth fault won't trip the individual breakers.

Or a neutral earth fault which wont trip any breakers besides RCD

    Heating system?
    Circulating pump?
