Alan Turing pardoned by Queen Elizabeth II

    Not 100% sure where this belongs, but I thought it relevant here. Finally after over 60 years, a grave injustice imposed on one of the fathers of modern computing has been righted.

    The way this man was treated by his own country (especially after his contribution to shortening WWII) has always disgusted me. Even if too late, the right thing has been done.

    What was his crime... Saving them from the Nazis? Imho he should have been exonerated. This is the very very minimum they should do.

    And at the same time the British government is blocking access to LGBT websites using the very computers Turing advanced so far. :/

    100 % agree, his conviction should have been quashed years ago (and those of all the others convicted of the heinous :rolleyes: "crime" of being gay).
