Quick - should I buy a Garmin 200 today before shop closes??

    Hi

    I see Halfords have that Garmin 200 on sale at €89.99 today BUT with todays 10% off - will come in at €80.99.

    Was thinking of buying this as a Xmas present to myself (!) and am just wondering is it worth €81 euro??

    Am not into cadence or HR monitoring - so holding out for a 500 might be overkill!!

    So - please help me make up my mind. Halfords closes around 5pm today for Xmas.

    Seems like a decent price. I've the 500 and thing its a great bit of kit

    Does it up load to strava/garmin connect?

    I had a garmin 200 and it was great. You can upload to garmin connect and strava etc. you cannot however pair up with a heart monitor and cadence sensor. It wasn't long before I upgraded to the 500 unit.

    Why would you want the Cadence + HR???? Is this a 'hard-core' cyclist thing?? Am more of a Saturday spin with a coffee stop type of cyclist - aiming to be ready for Ring of Kerry, Sean Kelly and Rebel Tour days out.

    The only reason you posted here was so we would say yes, who in their right mind would post no to a 'will I buy...' Thread.
    Buy it and resell for 66% of your purchase price when you want t upgrade to a 500, buy that second hand and you end up saving a fortune!

    Push the button, you know it makes sense.

    HR/Cadence can help with training. I use it because I like reviewing the numbers

    I've no interest in cadence or HR but I upgraded from a 200 to a 500 last year as it has several other functions such as gradient, elevation, time of day, compass etc.
