Panasonic PVR - Recording Freeview and Saorview

Just purchased the Panasonic DMR PWT530 in order to record from both Freeview and Saorview. I noted the following:

    (1) This PVR has same problems as Youview and Sony Freeview HD PVRs re recording from Saorview and Freeview. You cannot timer record from both EPGs. Only one will record.
    (2) However you can of course directly manually record from both.
    (3) In order to set recordings from both systems you can manually timer record from both. This obviously bypasses EPG.
    (4) The programme information on Saorview channels is minimal.

I'm happy enough with this PVR despite the drawbacks re Freeview/Saorview. I think I'll use the manual timer recording facility quite a lot. This machine also has a Blu ray disc player and DVD player although you can't AFAIK transfer recordings from HDD to DVD.

    .

Very surprised by this, I have the 2012 model DMR-HW220 and it can manage timer recording from both systems.
Was thinking of getting the 2013 BW735 model after Xmas for the bluray recording features but will need to rethink.
    Thanks for the update.

Just to update. I have now managed to successfully timer record from both Freeview and Saorview directly from epg. For some reason it did not do this yesterday but today was fine. I too was thinking of purchasing the Blu ray recorder version although it is a bit expensive so I went for the scaled down PVR instead.

When tuning in Saorview, do you have the ability to change the channel numbering and remove unwanted channels?

The Humax boxes suffer from an inability to do this. Which means being stuck with an odd channel order, and the inclusion of all the test channels.

The Panasonic can re-number channels as you want.
