Can 2ds join a game hosted by a normal DS?

    Hi.
    Sorry for the silly question but I've not much experience with the Nintendo handhelds.
    My daughter has a DS XL and hosts Mario games for her brother to play on.
    My other son is getting a 2DS for Christmas... Will he ba able to play in those hosted games too?
    I know it won't work with his Mario Cart 7 as it's 3/2ds only. But with the original DS games playable on the 2ds, am I right in assuming he can join a hosted game?

    Yeah he can no problem. I was fairly sure just tested it out to be definite. He can go into Download Play on the 2DS menu, then select Download a DS game and it will work the same as always.
