    Hey guys,

Does anyone have a standard molex to PCI-e cable as seen below?

It's for my sons computer for Christmas and the power supply and gpu didn't come with one :(

I'm in Cork until 7pm tomorrow, and then in Tipperary after that.

I would be in your debt if you have one!

I strongly advise not using these, they pull too much power on the rail and I have blow PSU with them.

It depends, I'd proceed with caution if adding a second card for sure and try to find out a bit more about the PSU, if it was multirail etc.

If it is adding a second PCIe connector for a semi decent 400-450W unit (or something like that), which often have only one Pcie connector and is almost certainly single rail I'd have no problem with it (Which I am guessing is the OPs most likely situation).

On the other hand if it was adding a PCIe connector to a PSU that didn't have any I'd again be worried about powering a gaming PC with it fullstop.

I used it in my Dell 420XPS to power up 6870. Worked fine then and still works perfect now at my buddies house. Maybe it was more of a PSU issue, not the actual concept of the cable.
