hotel not too far to Charles du Gaul

    Hi going to paris in 3 weeks. Just booking a hotel but have never been there and am looking for a few tips.
    somewhere to book not too far from everything.
    any1 any ideas or advice for a first time goer.

    You won't really want to be near Charles De Gaulle. From the airport you get into Paris on the RER train, which connects with the Metro, on which you can get anywhere in the city.

    For a first timer to Paris I would recommend somewhere in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th arrondisements.
    If you're on a budget, you may have to go out further, but the Metro connects you to everything.

    Check the man travel for hotel advice is previous threads.

    As spurious you don't want to be anywhere near the airport. Just look at a map online to get a feeling for the place but Paris is big enough in that it is impossible to get a hotel which is near everything. Anywhere in the center will mean that most things are walkable and you might want to get the metro for the outer sites.
