    Mmm...needs more Brendan Balfe :(

But Maxi's back on Christmas Eve! :D

The Jack Lukeman/Jack Frost programme sounds good. And despite the presence of Jason Byrne, the comedy game show with Sean Hughes should be an interesting listen.

Totally about agree about Brendan Balfe, this would be the ideal time to have him on for a few shows (or a repeat of his Irish Voice series).

Looks a bit dull, to be honest. Last year they has an enjoyable look at the History of the Irish Music Charts, nothing like that this time.

New Years Eve 2pm on Radio 1...

Jim Lockhart pays tribute to Lou Reed and looks back at the year in music - should be good

Just heard "an extended John Murray Show. " two hours!! This morning, probably followed by two hours of Ronan Collins.

    Myyyy goodness!

Know where I won't be tuned into.......click ...and that's after an extension of Risin time.

    Poor poor fare.

Re the above tuned in to Newstalk and was pleasantly surprised to get a nice fast moving show, nothing too deep but keeping the punter up to date and advised especially given the weather.

Chis Donohue clipped along at a nice pace and kudos on that.

Also see PK s on ,presume live,so from what I can see,Newstalk showing the "national broadcaster" how to do it.

Don't know how RTE get away with it.

Just an hour of Morning Ireland today, the flagship news programme reduced to a glorified news bulliten...

The 'Final Partings' show yesterday afternoon is worth a listen...Jim Lockhart and co. Discussing musicians we have lost this year including Lou Reed, Ray Manzarek, Phil Chevron etc.

I thought the 'Next Year's News' comedy show was ok...difficult to tell which comedian was which.

Bizarrely, the same programme had a TV version last night with the same panellists and the same jokes.

And there was 'Liveline TV' on RTE1 last night where Joe Duffy hijacked the New Years Eve show to bore the nation with his own pet subjects.

Radio on the TV, it's the licence fee hard at work again
