This is on offer in the cyclesuperstore tomorrow. Essentially I am wondering is it any good?

Not really its on Bike24 for €103. I had one years ago i think i paid €120 at the time the RRP is way off.

I would save you cash and buy a Garmin 500.

It's a good unit. I think the price is OK, buy you would need to check around.

The big question is whether you will be happy with it in a year's time, or will you wish you had waited and got a Garmin. The Garmin will allow you to track your position, upload to Strava etc.

Cadence/speed sensor on these are a pain in the ass. Get a garmin!

yeah I used this for a few years - the batteries can't be replaced in the sensors, so it was like 28eur for the speed one, and dearer again for the cadence if I remember correctly.
Plus the cadence sensor has to wrap round the downtube and always looked a bit stupid I thought.

Switched eventually to an Edge500, and loved it. And if the speed/cadence battery goes, it's just a simple 2032 battery you need to replace.
Also, the Polar algorithm for calculating kCals was a bit 'wild'. Probably they have improved that by now, but it was very generous compared to whatever Garmin use.
