Sorry for this probably ridiculous question but is it worth buying 2 tickets not seated together for a comedy gig. As in is there any hope we could find an area where the 2 of us could stand/hover! to watch gig if we cant find 2 unused seats on the night?

Yes, there's plenty of standing room at the back on both levels.

Cheers. Would it make a difference as to what section I get the tickets for do you think?

There's no standing room on the ground floor, only upstairs I think. To stand on the ground floor would block the view of anyone sitting at the back or side.
