Missed half the report but a girl from VIP cigs was on, saying something about the e-cig producers going to? have/form their 'own self regulating body'.

Couldn't sit through 30 mins of John-Jo the king farmer and other tripe on RTE Player to see it in full.

Can anyone directly link to the story? And/or interpret what she meant.

I think she wanted the Vaping industry to regulate itself . E-cigs will not be regulated as medicine or a tobacco product but will be a consumer product.

Irish cancer society parroting the pharma line and telling us that ecigs are not safe, fools.
VIP ecigs happy with the new regs cos it suits them but would have preferred to set their own rules. self serving fools.
Some one else repeating the not regulated line, another fool.
    So many fools.
This and the report on news-talk today were so ill informed and poorly presented, the newstalk one a sham phone call and the rte one a propaganda piece that I dispare of news coverage in this country.
TPD piece here on the player mostly focusing on ecigs, starts at 20.26

Yeah, I didn't catch who the woman at the end of the piece was but she clearly wanted Ireland to lead the field and ban them outright....

It will come into force in 2016 if it makes it the rest of the way through the process, it probally will though. Big thread here, last 3 pages are the up to date bits.

Kathleen O'Meara, Head of Advocacy, Irish Cancer Society. I will be sending her a letter requesting that she back up her claims and ultimately her position on e-cigs with scientific data.

Is it just me or did this smack of you're better off sticking to smoking than taking up vaping!?

Nothing to do with GlaxoSmithKline, who make nicorettes and niquitin cq being major.supporters of the Irish cancer society of course.

Well, I would think that by going by her history we are blessed by having her opposing Vaping tbh......she is a wannabe and a failure on most counts.....no worries there :)
