My housemate said she would defrost the pork chops in the microwave. I thought she had, fried them on the pan and ate them. She had the normal heating setting on for just 2 minutes and not the defrost setting. I fried them for about 10 on a high heat, could have been less cos I can't remember Am I at risk of food poisoning. I'm starting to get really worried as my parents always said it was bad to eat raw meat.

Any Posts would be greatly appreciated

Was the meat red, pink or white?

Ive had steak tartare and it was gorgeous. You can eat raw meat you just got to make sure it was prepared correctly.

    Should be grand.

10 mins on a high heat should do them regardless of frozen or not. Pork chops are pretty slim, aren't they? Also, the defrost setting in the microwave is usually less power than the normal setting. Also, were they pink on the outside, what about the inside? I say you'll be grand.

When did you cook them? You'll find out soon enough if they weren't ok.

The meat was well done on the outside and I think whitish. It definitely was not pink and there was no blood or off colour from it. It ate it about 6:30pm.

You will be fine. 10 mins in the microwave will cook pretty much anything.

You just appear to have no taste buds.... :-0

You're fine. Pork is white when cooked.

    White inside your grand.....
Red meat can be eaten raw (bar mince)
White meats need cooking (poultry till juices run clear)

Did it taste good? Love pork I do....

I like my (fresh) pork pink in the middle once the juices are clear, overcooked pork is yak

Grand thanks for putting my mind at ease. It's just that I am in the middle of exams and don't want to be struck down with food poisoning. At home, we were always taught to cook pork till it was nearly like leather to kill any parasites/bacteria.

Ah good old Irish Mammy cooking. When it's burnt, we eat!
