My dentist is every six months, why? to keep them plague free and look at the health of your gums and examine your mouth for any indications of oral cancer, diabetes or vitamin deficiencies.

Each patient usually gets a individualised recall schedule. Say for instance patient A has multiple fillings and poor gums their recall might be 6 months, while patient B doesnt have a single filling and keeps excellent oral hygiene, their recall might be 12 months or longer. It all depends on your risk factors and the things the dentist wants to keep under review.
