Age Spread in AS

What's the age spread like in Airsoft? I'm in my late 30s and I'm curious how the levels of age spread affect things like gamesmanship. I've been watching some vids and it does seem like some of the 'worst' players seem to be in the upper age bracket. Those who ruin the flow by breaking 'tac' and insisting that a kid takes his hits where it might have been ambiguous, or those who throw their teddy out of the pram with others. Have you come across this so far? What are the younger group like to skirmish with when you are a durtysomething? Any older players who would like to share observations? Any younger players who have had bad experiences with older players?

I'm dying to get back home (I work away for 2 weeks on a stretch) and get to some skimishes. Really looking forwards to it.

Well I know in my local site 30 is about the average age. I'm in with the youngest at my site being only 14.
Some of the people are older still and are some of the soundest people going, they'll always help when they can with advice and I've no bad experiences with anyone so far.
Don't take what you see in videos online to heart, I've seen in alot of videos people screaming at each other for know good reason and taking things way to seriously but haven't seen it happen in real life

Honestly age doesn't really matter as there I'd always arguments to both sides as to whose being immature or who isn't manning up no matter the age.
Honestly the spread seems a minor issue really, all we are concerned about is what your carrying!! There is a fair few younger people starting up as the sport/hobby takes hold but I would hazard at a guess most players are the type that have full time jobs but that is slowly declining as more kids and college students discover it.
Once you show up, have fun, be honest and don't look negative at the whole experience you will get along fine and not worry about age spread.
I rarely play anymore due to other commitments but where I would call home tend to have young gun days and teenage days to help divide the groups but I would prefer to play against them as I bring my 11year old to play with me and have fun

I don't really see age as an issue, I mean if you're an idiot at 15 you're more than likely going to have that same mentality at 30+. I'm 21 and get one well with all the players like everyone at a site does. Some days 14 years old annoy you because they try to show off infront of their friends but sometimes the older players get annoyed because the younger lads are playing better and so get frustrated. It all really depends on the players that are present. Best thing to do is not to worry about it and just go and skirmish, you'll find out for yourself soon enough :)

I had the same reservations when I took up airsoft a few years ago, thinking that as I'm in my 40's, I'd look well out of place amongst "younger" players. The reality is that most of the regulars I play with are older than me. While the younger players may be fitter and run around more, the older guys are sneakier! ;-).

As for people not getting along, I've only ever witnessed one serious incident where a player was asked to tone down his abusive and threatening language by the Marshall. When he failed to "cool down", he was asked to leave the site.
