hello all been reading here for a while and think its great :D

Just wandering about testing silage bales to get an idea of their feeding value. So do I just get a fist of stuff from the bale and send it away or is there a proper way to do it ?

also best place to send for testing ?
    Thanks in advance

We split two bales from different ends of the stack. Took some from centre if each to send off.

Used Oldxastle labs last year €45 and good service too.

Our sample is off in Hilsborough at the moment. With their charge and postage it cost me €25 including a feeding report. Results due back soon.

their address is on the web and to save time you can put sample in a ziploc bag and label it yourself
