Have you tried some of the car interior shampoos? Also, so fairy liquid NEAT applied to the stain may help break down the oil. You can also use some of the Vanish foam cans of even the power form you put in the washing machine.

A lidl wet wipe with some kitchen degreaser liquid in the orange bottle, or a bit of washing powder sprinkled on a damp hot cloth, and wipe with a clean damp cloth afterwards.

Sounds like he removed the wheels and tried putting the frame in upside down - hence the chain-ring coming into contact with the roof lining.

OP - whatever chemical you decide, use it with cotton buds which are good for absorbing dirt.

Bit of wd40 should do the job.

Cotton ball with small amount spayed on the ball.

I used to transport my bike in an MX5! Wheels and saddle off, that was all. It was a small compact frame though.

Muc-off degreaser is great for removing oil, a bit on an old toothbrush should work. And don't use your GF's toothbrush - you're in enough do-do already

It's like wine on a carpet - just put more chain oil on it and it will evaporate

This should do the job. Ive used WD40 to remove spilt nail polish from carpet. Just go easy on the WD40.

I managed to get a chain ring mark on the underside of the roof of my car. I tried not looking at it for four years, then finally wiped it off with a dettol branded wet-wipe type thing.
