    I recently unearthed a Half-Life anthology I had lost at home a while back. I installed the game and set up a steam account as per the instructions.

    But it won't let me play the game. When I click on the game icon on the desktop it sends me to a link to purchase the game from steam. Why am I being made to buy the game twice?

    Activate the CD key with Steam? I don't know if the install process is supposed to automatically take the key and add it to your account or not.

    Go to games -> activate a product, and enter the key there.

    If it is one of the old CD Keys, you probably will get the entire HL1 anthology collection. Enjoy! :D
