    But...
I find it ... sad... I suppose that what he is doing is so news worthy in the first place.
Its so painfully obvious that this is how all Popes and Catholic hierarchy in general should behave in the first place that its a sad indictment that its taken so long for it to happen. And sad that its such a sensation.
Surely its obvious that any person who follows the example of Jesus in the bible should be out feeding the poor, avoiding the golden pompous trappings etc etc yadda yadda rabble !
    Well done that man

Its an eye opener that a man just being, as my Da calls him, 'a decent auld skin' should be such a revelation when it comes from the head of a religion which bases its self upon the teaching of a poor carpenters son who kissed lepers and fed the poor.

'Oh lets just brush our instituitional cover up of aiding and abetting child sex abuse by stating nice platitudes about 'greed'.

Feckin' Jesuits Ted, they have it all sown up..

If he actually read the bible he would find out that it contradicts a lot off the the Catholic churches doctrine.

This is probably better suited to the Atheism & Agnosticism or Christianity forums.
