Are secondhand Playstation 3's being under/over valued ?

With the PS4 coming out what is the real value of the PS3 ?

I know there are a good few different modules of the PS3 out and prices will vary.

I'm trying to sell my old PS3 - ( like many others are ) and from what i'm seeing people looking to buy a PS3 are expecting to get it for next to nothing as the PS4 is the current model.

Or are the sellers of the PS3 looking for to much ?

What is the true value of a second hand PS3

    Phat one = €???
    Slim = €???
    Super Slim = €???

( Again different sizes for each )

    Some cheap ones about atm

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-500GB-Console-Turismo/dp/B00GN61FB8/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1387200319&sr=8-7&keywords=ps3

I'd say €100 for a 2nd hand super slim 500g with no games

What would a phat original one be worth? Have 2 a these lying round at the moment!?

Supply and demand. There are still a lot of people looking for PS3's. Just because the PS4 is out, doesn't mean that the PS3 will drastically reduce in price.

Consumers will always [generally] want to pay the lowest price. Sellers will always [generally] want the highest price. For as long ass there are more purchasers than sellers, the price will remain high.

Might just throw it up for sale so and see, worth a shot i suppose!

I bought a new 12GB from Amazon last week for about 135 sterling.

Really wish I had managed to get a Slim model - they look slick!

The superslim really does look like a cheap piece of crud!

120GB Slim model, one transparent Dualshock 3 (I have another one in woof condition, no grips on the analogues), The Last of Us, Uncharted I, II & III, Heavy Rain, God of War III, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Metal Gear Solid 4, Batman Arkham City.

What would I get for that?

I bought a phat model 320GB console with a few games and stuff second hand over the summer for €150 from adverts.

You can buy a PS3 with 2 good games brand new for about €200, €180 in some places, so second hand your easily talking about €140 and thats for the newer models.

If you have the old phat ones, anything over €100 for the machine is being greedy tbh....

Unless it's the one with ps2 compatibility, be worth it then.

The console for €200 are the 12GB ones.. which are unless if your a PSplus members.

I've have a 250GB Slim one with 15 games and 2 official controllers and 1 wired one.. also a dual charging stand. I'm31 and look after all my games.. some have only been played once.

People have been offering 150 - 200 for it.. I feel it's worth more. I just can't sell it for €200 I'd rather keep it.

I got a 160GB slim, The Last of Us, MGS4 and 6 other games for €150 back in August. I guess it was timing. The guy I bought it from bought a few weeks before, solely to play TLoU. Same reason I got one!!

If someone would even offer me to swap my phat 60 for a new model I would not do it. Its a better machine overall.
I personally think that 60gb in good condition would be worth more then brand new super slims.

I was looking to get cheap 360 as my one died from sitting in a box... Looks like prices on all old gen consoles still holding on. We do have some amazing deals though, the one linked on Amazon looks like a great deal. So 230eu for 500gb with gt6 and last of us. I would really not pay more then 100eu for second hand one so.

That's using a middle man. They need to turn a profit on the sale too. You need to see what GameStop are selling used 250GB's to see the potential market value.

You will always get more selling private.

Sadly true....and it will probably drop down further, 60 euro. Best option is to get the 25% preorder bonus added on.

If that's the price they are selling them at, then people are paying that amount of money.

My point is its not right Gamestop charge the prices that they do, for trade in and resale....such profiteering

I sold my 360 last week, and if I could have gotten €250 for it then I obviously would have. Businesses are the same. People don't have to accept the trade-in prices or buy for the prices they put up. The same way people didn't have to buy my Xbox for a ridiculous €300 euro when I first posted it on Adverts.

This is Gamestop; famed for having pre-owned games that are more expensive than new ones.......:pac: They must have been running the irish Banks for the last few years.

The told me I would get €20 store credit for my 250gb Phat
I'd give it to charity instead of that derogatory offer.

Gotta laugh at gamestops 'derogatory' offers and 'profiteering'.

Lads, GameStop is a business. They're not trying to offend people or gouging starving people for the price of water.

Ye don't have to sell them anything. Nor do ye have to buy from them. If they're buying and selling at those prices and it's getting sales and making a profit, then it makes total sense for the company and it's shareholders.

I have a PS3 btw and it's best days are probably yet to come.

But seeing people on adverts getting all upset cos buyers are only willing to pay a certain price is hilarious. It doesn't matter what you paid. Or what the RRP is etc.

Ye either accept what the market is willing to pay or keep it/give it away.

a ps is and will be for quite a while worth at least 100 bucks for bluray player/netflix/media
being offered 20 bucks fotr 1 is a joke as is asking 200 for a used machine because it comes with mw2 and fifa 11 :)

    It's a crap offer, obviously.

But how is it insulting? If they're offering 20e it's either cos they've got too many 2nd PS3's (and hence supply exceeds demand) or that is the price people are accepting (and he new market price).
