    Anyone using one if these???
Have a dreambox... Works well however images are no longer being supported/updated so looking for something more modern without breaking the bank.
Only needs single tuner but I'd like to be able to fit a hd in the box aswell.
    Cheers
    Marty.

Just got a cloud ibox2 plus. great little box. First impressions are E2 images very stable & robust. Still getting a feel for setting it up. Not enough room or internal slot for internal HDD. But 2 usb ports so grand for external drive. 88Euro on ebay. has a lot of bang for your buck.

Not the best, it's acceptable considering its a replacement for a DM500s which remote was totally crap. Just keep decent batteries in it. And I've a video sender connected to the scart to my sons bedroom so he can control it thru his phone with VU+ app. Only thing is, he has to change settings from HDMI to scart. But i think it's worth the inconvenience.

    Thanks,sounds like a nice receiver.
Some of the older Dm500s clones had woeful ranges on them,it was due to the ir receiver at the front of the box.
Do you have to point the remote directly at the box ?

The ibox 2 plus is a clone of the Xpeed Lx1 ,it seems to have a very large Ram and flash for plugins (512Mb) unlike other cheap receivers .

I've only tried openpli so far & I'm very impressed, very stable. There's openvix & blackhole as well
Ya remote has to pointed directly at it. Easy set-up.
88Euro delivered from UK thru parcel motel & only took 2 days.

there's alot of stuff about to make sure to use clone safe images & don't do online updates will brick box.
Don't know how true, but not taking chance. You know yourself about reliable info on the internet!
There's a few sites that are ok.

I paid 80E for a ferguson ariva with postage recently & how boring & basic that was. Had to sell on when I seen this.
Great little box for kitchen or bedroom.

You have to be careful with the images allright ,alot of Vu based images wrecked clone receivers last week, they had a flash timebomb built in .
Very nasty stuff,I'd certainly avoid the OpenVix images released after Jan 1st.
Not sure if it will effect the ibox 2 plus as its based on the Xspeed Lx1 receiver but I wouldnt take a chance for the time being.

Once you get used to a linux receiver there is no going back to a basic receiver again.

Hey may have given you the firmware for an ibox 2.

Try one of the plus firmwares from here http://cloud-ibox.net/
    Good source with regular updates.

That definitely sounds like image issue. The 2014 images have a lot of issues with them, thanks to Vu+ not liking clones using their images. I had same problem with image i had, the select and menu buttons stopped working.
There's a good working copy that went up on sattvhelp in the last week or so.
    Or here's link to mine.

This is exactly what is wrong with mine. This will sound silly but on your list is there a sequence to upload they or all USB at once ?

Download the folder xpeedlx. Place the folder xpeedlx onto a usb memory stick (must be less than 4Gb).
the folder should contain the files - force, imageversion, kernel, rootfs.

place in usb port, power on. will see 'flash' for a second followed by other text. when finished will see "dOnE'. takes about 5 minutes.
Power off, remove usb memory stick & power on.
That's it. The DHCP is probably off in network settings, which is my settings.
User & pwd is root for ftp.
    It's a sly skin & openvix image.

Change the name of the folder to cloudix and try again. I put a different bootloader on to 1 of my boxes to try a different image & had to change the name of the original xpeedlx folder to cloudix to get the original back on it. Maybe you have this bootloader.
Also I think i seen a fix for the keypad issue, i'll check to see if i can find it.

    Found it - http://www.techkings.org/cloud-ibox/57662-cloud-ibox-2-plus-ok-button-menu-button-stopped.html

    Hi Guys,

Ye seem to be the people to talk to about this stuff so here goes.
I bought a cloud i box 2 + about a month ago with a full subscription for all channells Sky,EsPN, BT sports etc. Lastnight i went messing with the box getting used of it and saw there was an update available. This update worked fine and all channell listings came back. Box worked fine.
After wards I saw an upgrade available and clicked ok. The error message that appeared said unattened software upgrade wait until box has rebooted.
The box is now stuck on boot with 24 hours.

I have been going through boards and have uploaded a bootloader I saw on a previous board. This has appeared to work I got the load message on LCD screen and then a DONE message appeared.
I am now trying to upload a OpenPLi-4.0-beta-cloud-ibox-2-plus-20140913_usb.zip file. Am I right or wrong?
I am very new to this but I dont mind trying things (probably a bad thing) Can anyone help please?

The link to a backup of openvix still there in reply number 13. Still using it and haven't had any issues.

Don't do any updates on the cloud ibox 2 plus's. They are clones of vu+ who have been adding clone killer sw in their images & updates. !!Allegedly!!

    Hello Big Wex fan,

Will the openvix help unlock the missing channels like sky and BT?
I have some channels but not all

That sounds like the settings in your autobouquets. Check the settings are not on FTA (free to air). Change to all & rerun.

    OK Thanks,

Sorry for the noob question but I could do with a manual. I find it very hard to navigate through the Ibox 2 +. Where would I find autobouquets settings

If you,ve flashed your box with new software then you,ve lost everything that was on your box before flashing and the extra,s aswell you need to contact who ever you got your the box off aswell as the other thing ,and as Big wex fan stated do not do software update on your box your very lucky you did,nt brick your box or you be jtaging your box or worse having to change the flash chip ,and be carefully what you say about channel,s as you,ll get yourself in trouble with mods or worse remember this a open forum everybody can read your post regards bored_stupid

Menu the setup then goto service settings press ok on that and you will see AutoBouquetsmaker your good to go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 351 ✭✭Big Wex fan

    Depends on the autobeuquets maker.
    From memory -

    If crossepg,
Go menu, settings, if u see crossepg, select this, think might be press menu to bring up the settings for crossepg.
Select region you perfer & there should a line FTA only.
If crossepg not in main menu go into submenus until you find the crossepg.

If like openvix - it's menu, setup, service searching, autobouquetsMakeror , providers.
    My settings are
    Freesat no
    sky uk: area London SD
other lines like Sky Scotland no etc.
    That's all personal pref.

Just play around with the settings, you'll get there eventually.

the only places one can buy a subscription to these channels is BSkyB or your local cable/iptv provider
