I have been summonsed to court as a witness to a sec 49.
Don't want anything to do with the case but cant do much about it now.

Is it possible to ask the judge to be lenient on the case, The person involved i feel just made an error and it wont be repeated.

Your just a witness and thats it.His solicitor is the only one that can ask the judge to be lenient.Drink driving cases carry a minimum anyway.

Typical witness attitude - the public moan about the drunken drivers on the road but if they are put on the spot and have to go to court as a witness they don't want to know.
