    Too paraphrase Bernard Black;
"EU, Fianna Fail, it's an impossible choice... I'll just have to hope that when I flip the coin it somehow explodes and kills me.."

Most of our good legislation and lots of money has come from EU

    working time directive
    food quality
    cap

FF will sell the next generation down the river to win the next election with promises like they've done since CJ ruined the party.
"Health Cuts Hurt the Old The Sick and The Handicapped"

The whole mess of bin charges, water charges, household charge, reduced local authority services stems back to 1977 when they abolished domestic rates to buy that election. Rates could have cooled the housing boom without ramping up house prices to the same extent But it''s OK because there are lots of new quangos entitled to slices of the pies.

Well,at least Zanu FF are Irish, Whereas Frankfurt would likely make us a Patsy for the whole of the EU.

But Christ, even Sophies choice wasn't as bad as being stuck in between those two.

Long term: Frankfurt. They have no one here they have to impress/ cajole/ manipulate/ justify.

    Short term, doesn't matter.

Yea not everything FF did was right but lets not go full retard here.

I'd take the EU tomorrow even without the threat of FF.

Too late clicked on FF by mistake in the poll, FF -1.:o

Looks like its a result. Most people would rather have the EU than have the maFFia party look after the affairs of the country.

    Frankfurt's way without a doubt.

National tragedy today - Ireland regains some economic sovereignty.

We progressed nicely over the last few years while our economic policy was dictated by disinterested experts.

Now its back in the control of mediocre civil servants, gombeen politicians, and school teacher ministers.

Its a bad, bad day for Ireland.

If Frankfurt was genuinely running the country, unemployment benefit would be about €100 a week. The German welfare system is structured in such a way, people work earning €500 a month full time in factories, with no state support. We would all have to pay for our pension with it based on how much we actually paid towards it.

Frankfurt - to be honest, as many problems as we may be having with them at the moment, the EU has done far more positive things for the people of this country than FF ever have.

Not everything FF did was right?

FF (with the possible exception of a brief period under Lemass) has been the worst thing that has ever happened to this country. Even beyond the rampant inter-generational corruption, even beyond flushing our economy down the toilet - they've poisoned our entire political culture...

I'd rather 10 years of EU rule to another 1 year of FF rule, and I'm not even exhaggerating

Unfortunately Fianna Fail have no leaders anymore -

They are all retired ..................Bertie Ahern - Brian Cowen - Mary Harney - Dermot Ahern - Noel Dempsey -

Maybe we need ''Return of the living dead ' Part 2

I agree with some of the points you are making, the only thing that I will remember in a positive light will be the SSIA.

But for someone to say they would rather live under the Khmer Rouge or Kim Jong un is beyond idiotic, and I really take offence to such statements.

Indeed, I wouldn't go that far. But the EU - I certaintly would have them administrate our affairs over FF

if FF have a HINT of winning an election any time soon , those 2 snakes will be back in a heart beat.

the fact that they command ANY numbers in the polls , proves that a certain percentage of our population really are thick Irish.

come election time , watch FF promise more money in our pockets , more than the other lot , and they will be in - because the Irish electorate love being bought, they have done this REPEATEDLY

I make a point of stating here and now if Fianna Fail get a majority of the next vote I will personally lead a coup in this country and jail them all for treason.

I would take the EU over any party.

God knows what fun is ahead of us. It is quite possible that we could have FF and FF lite in government next time round. What a concoction of incompetence and immorality!

It would be great if those people who voted FF in the pole to step forward and give their reasons why they think FF should give be another attempt to run the country?
