    Very very annoying!!

When the car hits 70 I can hear a whistle, if I throttle off it goes and if I throttle on it comes back but its only after 120kph

I cant understand why its after 120kph and why it goes when i take my foot of the accelerator pedal

Herself usually drives it so I only noticed it the last few days when I was in it

    Any ideas

    Fuel pump, possibly.

Get herself to drive it and sit in the back, see if you can hear it more audibly from the fuel tank area.

My car is constantly on boost @ 120km so i generally go 130 unless i meet another Jaguar XKR who wants to play cat and mouse halfway down the M6 for lols

True, I was in the S80 and got passed by a silver mouldy green 97 micra with about 7 story buds in it........didn't no whether to laugh or be mortified

Seems the smaller the CC the faster you try to go :pac:

They are dead handy though, slot in behind and see if they freak out and try to speed away from you (Nope!) or keep going and give you a nice buffer against speed traps or back off altogether.

Well like motorways are boring i need some entertainment :p

Sorry for hijacking threads i will feck off now

Drove an old model clio for a while at one stage, at a certain speed the panel gaps on the POS created a very annoying whistle. So hard to figure these noises out even when you are in a car, the high pitched stuff especially. Getting someone else to drive while you hunt for the noise is a good idea.

Last time my friend's car whistled, it appeared to be VERY low on oil. But it only appeared to be whistling when revving.
I assume you checked the basics like an oil (even if i or you didn't think it could have anything to do with it).
That lad's 1.2 punto was written off as uneconomical repair in the space of 3 days, and no warning on the dash:rolleyes:

Another whistle I heard was a belt, but to be honest it really could be anything in your case - I am puzzled that this happens when you take the foot off the accelerator.
A little hole in the air intake system maybe? - when you put your foot off it the engine is quieter, so you can hear thing you normally wouldn't?

    @Wonski

The whistle is only there when im pressing the pedal....once i remove my foot it stops.

    And its only over 120kph

    Bloody annoying
