Looking for some ideas for a course to play next Friday.

Starting a tradition with a golf buddy that we go to a new course the week before Christmas.

2 of us are high handicappers and the only challenger will be with ourselves. Buggy would be an advantage.

Both live in Dublin so surrounding area would be great.

    Suggestions pleSe.

I assume that was a joke.

I used to work here so may be a little biased but:

Glen of the Downs is straightforward to get to. Buggies are available. The course is fairly sympathetic to high handicappers and the views are impressive especially out over the Irish sea. Moderately hilly.

Carton House O Meara course, (last time i had a handicap i was 24 but reckon i could be about an 18 or so now) but i found the course very enjoyable and not too difficult (i had about 5 or 6 pars good for me like), i particularly loved the back nine. There are some unreal holes particularly the 16th i think par three with a lake from tee box to green....(lost 3 balls) but a bit pricey to say the least. St Margarets aswel was enjoyable i went out on one of the worst days though (the rain bucketed down on the 16 for 5 mins and the course flooded) but still a tough course for my level
