Motor Tax in arrears

    Hi,

    my car hasn't been taxed in 3mths, however I do intend on paying the arrears this month, what happens if I'm stopped by gardas given the recent change in motor tax rules?

    If you haven't yet paid and haven't declared the car off the road, FFS DON'T drive it until it's taxed!!

    Gards are a bit keen this time of year, and will likely seize the car.

    Summonses for no tax and non display of disc and a wasted half day off work spent hanging around court, waiting for your case to be called, unless you want to pay a solicitor to do it for you, most likely. In other words, hassle you don't need.

    Unsure about the situation regarding impounding of vehicles.
