can you fit a window sideways

    hi i need a window 58" length x54", height. but can get a used one of 54" length x 58" height , could i use this window and turn it .apart from the openings being at the side instead of the top of the window would there be any other problems... thanks. I heard there's drainage holes at the bottom of a window

    There are drainage holes to allow any interstitial condensation which occurs within the frame to drain, AFAIK. I'd be more concerned that the hinges may not be designed to carry the weight of the opening sash if used in another orientation. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be able to answer more constructively....
