    Why not? Original ones are prohibitively expensive for someone who's trying to get into retro campervanning (even if they can do all the resto themselves). Still a sound demand for them, otherwise the prices wouldn't be this high

    Importing a new or nearly new one from Brazil would be a viable and cheaper alternative

    They are far more expensive than good originals, but nowhere near as well built.

    I think anyone that looks at one of these and ignores T4 or T5s, needs their head examined. :D

    Are they? How much are they new over there (before we are talking import duties, VRT, VAT, shipping costs, etc.)?

    To buy one (a basic Kombi) in Brazil will cost you just shy of €16k - Enough to buy a really good example '70s Westfalia here or in the UK.

    Danbury sell new T2 and T5 campers each starting at around £32k.

    Bonkers.
