I bought my bangernomic sunny last week and for the most part it is fine, but if I drive it hard, or not easy on accelerater then it gets a bit dead, for a second or so, then picks up again giving me the impression of dirtyfuel.
the car seems to have sat for the bones of 4+ months so a srvice is in order, air filter had oil in it from sitting idle

Probably needs a good bit of tlc. Look over and clean/replace all the components for air, fuel and spark. See how it goes then. Could be distributor related. Corroded rotor or points or damp getting into it. I'd just work my way through everything starting with the free and then the cheap until it starts to pick up.

Meant to Get back to you, only affects on less than a quarterish of a tank. Shame really as I'm regularly found there! Reckon its dirt in fuel tank,

Try a new fuel filter. Otherwise your looking at cleaning the pump and the tank.

Maybe just set 1/4 as zero, easier said then done though :).
