Just ate two boiled eggs for lunch (not my normal fare but just what had in house at time) and half hour later I've bad cramps..does anyone know if this is likely the eggs? Does it mean I've developed some sort of intolerance? I hope not, I love eggs! However had my suspicions as can feel my throat sort of 'tighten' sometimes after eating boiled eggs in past..the only other thing I've eaten today is porridge for breakfast at 9 (usually have oat bran but again, need to do a grocery shopping!). Does anyone experience same?

If you are experiencing throat tightening or feeling unwell after eating eggs then you need to see a doctor - no one on a public forum can possibly diagnose you and I am pretty sure it would be against the charter to do so.

I wasnt looking for a diagnosis, just other people's experiences. The throat 'tightening' is very, very faint and hence I wasn't sure if I was imagining it. But my stomach has been upset all day after the eggs earlier. Usually if I eat them with something (salad, meat, veg), I don't experience cramping so it may be to do with the fact it was on an empty stomach. Either way, I'll be cutting down from now on I think.:( Thanks.

other peoples experiences wont affect if you're allergic to eggs or not. if youre worrying go to a DR

Yes I understand this. However, there are varying degrees of intolerance and also a difference between being allergic to something and just being intolerant. Also, some people appear to be able to eat the egg yolks but not the whites and vice versa. I do not think my intolerance is too bad when I eat eggs with other foods but will avoid eating alone on an empty stomach in future. Thanks.

Seriously anything that involves a 'throat tightening' symptom no matter how mild, should be checked out by a doctor. It is possible for mild allergies to become more severe for no apparent reason. It is perfectly possible for it not to be anything to worry about but better safe than sorry on that one.

Definitely get checked out asap. I have a nut allergy, and what you are describing is typical of an allergic reaction. It is something that can be controlled so don't suffer, go get checked out.
