    Hi All

I've been renting my house out for a number of years but I have never registered it with the revenue as i'm afraid they would audit me and lead the back to my door and take away my tracker mortgage.

my tenants have asked me for my pps number so that they can claim tax back on their rent.

does anyone know if the revenue are likely to use my pps number and check it against my income, I live and work full time in the UK and haven't paid income tax in Ireland in years. my property tax is up to date, even paid early to avoid having the revenue looking at me

I would think if you don't live in Ireland and have no other Irish income, you are probably not liable for any tax as your yearly income is probably less than the threshold for tax.

Logical thought, i'm not too bother about the tax its more having the bank turn around and say that they are switching me to a variable rate mortgage as I no long live there. I was afraid the revenue would inform the back to change my tax relief at source.
