So who's planning on going out on Christmas Day? I presume those of you doing the Festive 500 are.

I would love to be able to get out of the house xmas morning for a spin, clear the head, stretch the legs, work up an appetite for xmas dinner.

But it could result in divorce! Hmmmmm should I take the risk

I'll be out early, maybe around 8, back for 11 or so, the roads will be empty. The rest of my household will be just crawling out of bed around then, and I'm allowed out as I'll be doing the dinner.

Dont think I'll be allowed out Christmas morning as we'll be traveling down the county but the bike will be coming with my. Its my birthday on the 27th so I can do anything I want then. Right?

Jaysis, they'll be following you around in the broomwagon to get you home to cook.

Since I have to stay at the in laws this year, I will be heading out for a spin as compensation for not seeing my parents or siblings or whatever excuse I feel works best :p

    I'll be out, maybe.
Doing the in law thang so I get to cycle there.
    If I want
Thing is there might be a few sherries planned for Christmas Eve so maybe more like turning over for another hour in bed instead. Depends on the weather too, I can have mercy on myself on Christmas Day.

I'll be driving to Belfast but might turn the garmin on just to annoy the strava KOM chasers ;)

I would love to but will be with my parents on christmas day and can't bring the bike along. A christmas day spin sounds like pure bliss though. Empty roads:P

Last year they really weren't as empty as I expected, was nearly like a normal quiet Sunday.

Same as last year for me.
If your planing on doing over 10k kms a year this one day you should never ride

Sure am, 75km or so is the aim.
    Festive 500 related

Yep, plan is for 100km or so whilst the wife goes to her sisters to cook the dinner. I'll be getting her to drive the van over with a change of clothes so I can put the bike in the back and after a quick shower I can then partake in the festivities.

Good way to build up an appetite (not that I need any help) and it'll be a good chunk of the festive 500 done :)

I'm working Christmas Day and St Stephen's Day so I'm fairly limited. Mrs WA wasn't impressed when I suggested I'd be cycling to work on those days. :(

I haven't joined the Festive 500 (yet) as I'm fairly restricted over the period. I suppose that's a bit of a cop out!

Roads are fairly busy on Christmas Day as lots of people travelling to relatives/friends/dinner/church etc. and there's no public transport. (No commercial vehicles though).
