You do realise that that is just an oil change?
Unscrew a plug under the car, drain the oil, put the plug back in and refil with fresh oil ?

And with Advance Pitstop, I've found that they always find "something" else that needs fixing/replacing too.

It includes a filter too, anyway you might do as good taking it to your local indy. That price would certainly not include fully synthetic oil so people of newer diesels would need to be aware of that..

Sure beats the quote I got yesterday of €530 for a Service A for my car. And yes that was only an oil and filters change.

I was looking at buying a car for less than that yesterday. Still wouldn't have brought it to Advance Pitstop.

These have been mentioned on the motors forum a lot and most agree that you get what you pay for. Here you probably get some cheap 10w40 semi synthetic oil and a cheap oil filter. But for the price you couldnt expect more. Most newer cars can give diesel VWs for example do not like cheap oil and can have serious failures if the wrong oil is used.

There is no way on earth you were quoted €530 for a €10 oil filter & 5 x litres of engine oil.

what did they find that they said you would need done that may or may not have been necessary?

Can't remember now exactly what it was but they said something needed doing and gave a price.

Rang my regular mechanic and told him about it and he said he could do it much much cheaper than they were quoting.
