Dust Mites causing eczema

Hi all,

I am 25 years old and have always suffered with acne from my teen years to today. However, my acne now is virtually gone but I do get the occasional flare-up and stuff.

However, now I have slightly dis-coloured patches on my cheeks and forehead. Though, this is very very mild indeed.

What I have noticed lately is that when I sleep over in my friends house (in the spare bedroom), the next morning, my face (none of the rest of my body) is itchy and the slight-discoloured patches start to become more and more visible and I breakout alot. This can all happen with the space of just 1 night sleepover. Before I slept over for a long weekend (starting Friday night) and my face was in bits by Sunday.

The last time I stayed over, I got a sort of musty smell at times too.

I read up on this and everything points to dust mites. The bed is not very regularly changed and the room has never really been hoovered (just the exposed floor swept). The bed is up against a wall and the floor underneath cannot be got at, and I suspect harbours a hell of alot of dust.

There are also soft cuddly teddies on the bed in the room too and there is alot of clutter (books/clothes left lying around the room)

So, thats the background of the situation...my questions are these....1. Does this sound like dust mites to you? 2. Can it happen that only my face is affected from the dust mites? I breakout on my face - but the rest of my body is grand.

(Please note that I have never noticed bed bugs at all so have rules them out as I have never seen them/bite marks/bloods stains, etc)

Bring your own pillow next time and see if that makes any difference. Might be their pillow?
