    Hi,
Sorry if this has been dealt with in one of the threads or if it's a very obvious question, but how long does recruitment, etc take?
I'm in third year of a four year degree, on Erasmus. All I want is to apply for AGS, but I want to get my degree first. if applications start tomorrow, does this mean training would begin next September?
    Thank you!

Training will most likely begin between 2-5 months into next year. My guess is late February, early March.

Thanks, suppose if admissions will be every 3-4 months, I can afford to wait until closer to graduation!

What are you studying, out of interest?

Every 3-4 months isn't going to happen I'd say. Unless you can find a time machine and go back 7 years! At most once a year I would say after this drive. I see the first phase starting about April
    Or may.

I study Law & German, so I'm in Germany for a year!

I was going by the Independent article, which said 100 recruits to be admitted in intervals of 3-4 months, I wasn't sure if they would all be recruited at once :)

But we don't know yet whether or not they will change the training process. Up to now they had a five Phase programme. To get people on the street they might go back to the system 20 years ago where you did six months in Templemore and then were on probation with some in service and a final trip back to Templemore for a 2 week wrap up before being appointed. Under that system you had full powers as soon as you went on the street after six months.

The new training system is already approved and is going to be used, 32 weeks in tmore, 60something at station and back in for 7 I think to do exams and attestation, that's the general jist

Just make sure you stick in your application asap and (hopefully) when the time comes to be offered a position you may have the option to defer your entry into the college until after your exams. It sounds like there will be two or three intakes so you should be safe.

    Best of luck :)

Really? are they going back to having "recruits" then go out to stations after the 32 weeks for 60 weeks as opposed to "students" doing 22 weeks in Templemore then 22 as a student then back to templemore again.

Will this not affect the BA in Policing Lvl 7 Qualification

Don't know what affect it will have on BA but it's now 3 phases instead of 5. 32weeks then out to station with full powers as recruits for 62 weeks I think. Then back for exams attestation etc for 7 weeks. They just want to get them out as quick as possible, it's good I think as you only really going to learn on the beat.

While you need to be armed with the legaslation and knowledge of it, I couldn't agree with you more. You could read the public order Act every day for a month - spend a friday and saturday night out on the job and you'll never have to read it again.
