Has anybody been in the situation where somebody was a employer and has decided to stop and resumed working again. There is no P45. Is it best to speak to the employer helpline or how does one go about this? Cheers for any advise.

Going from sole trader to employer - with no p45, I just rang the revenue and gave them my new employers' number. Only thing to decide is how to apportion your tax free allowance between what you've earned and your new employer in the current tax year. It's probably a bit more complicated as a director, you might need to discuss with your accountant.

P46a is your man, I think. The P45 you do when you don't have a P45.
