Have you tried the DVLA in Swansea as our international b275 was brought in as scrap so no tax book etc.so would have no record in Ireland

I would have thought the Motor Tax Office would have told you do fill out a form that has to be stamped and signed by a Garage with the chassis number on it. Then another form with its details like make and model, color, engine size etc and they would make a tax book with a new reg number. Or even get you to take it to an NCT centre for them to check it.

Its a similar thing when buying a English/N Ire tractor and taking it in.

You have the chassis number of it so its not like they cant do something.

This is what I would have thought. It might have been the yob on the other end of the phone doing me no favours. She just simply said no we cant find anything on our files. Might try em again. Tis a shame to be going to all this hassle to pay a bit of tax and insurance haha

Thats just what I was going to say to you, if you ring them hopefully you will be talking to someone who is a bit human, alot of times its who you meet!

I recently went to tax my MF 35 and the person in the tax office was charging me the full tractor tax for the year I had to explain twice that it was a vintage tractor and it should only be half the price!
